POGO

Date night with my love at Pogo, a pretty pink restaurant located in Mt Hawthorn. Pogo serves delicious modern Australian food with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influences. Wilson and I absolutely loved tasting their new Spring menu.

First thing's first - we ordered Peri's Delight Gin, grapefruit, raspberry, lemon, Persian fairy floss and the Aleppo Margarita Syrian-chilli infused tequila, cointreau, sumac, agave, lime. If you love a sweet, fruity cocktail like me, then you'll love Peri's Delight.

From their Mezze menu - we had the Pita Chips (vg), Burrata (v) Fresh peas, lemon, mint, Aleppo oil and their popular Zaatar Fried Chicken Aleppo mayo, pickled cucumber, curry leaf.


For those who don't know what Burrata is, it's an Italian cow milk cheeese made from mozerella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella while the inside contains stracciatella and cream, giving it a creamy, soft texture. We loved the burrata paired with the pita chips and Wils especially loved the fried chicken.

Round two of drinks - we ordered a Sangria and a Preserved Lemon & Thyme Fizz Honey liquerur, sparkling wine, preserved lemon, fresh thyme & fizz.


Continuing on from the Mezze Menu, we had the Saha Prawn Toast and a side of Spring Fatoush (vg). Not pictured.


Then, the Roasted Cauliflower (vg) Green raisins, capers, pine nut skordalia, crispy sage and a side of Crispy Potato Scallops Garlic yoghurt, zhoug.

To end the evening on a sweet note, we shared the Sumac Strawberries Rose panna-cotta, kaitafi pastry, lemon curd.

A relaxing night filled with delicious food and drinks was exactly what we both needed after a such busy work month. The service at Pogo was amazing - the staff were friendly and inviting which, is something I always remember. I adore the aesthetics and interior design of Pogo and love that the space is consistent - from the decor, to the furniture and even the china and cutlery - If you know me, then you know that I'm a sucker for attention to detail. The food and drinks all came out in a timely manner and every dish was delicious. We finished every single dish and truth be told - I had to unzip my pants as soon as we got to the car. Definitely a faultless evening.
